So the Washington Post did a hard-hitting story yesterday on "snacking in the workplace." I'm glad to see they are paying attention to the media frenzy around snacks, but it was a little lame: "Among office snackers, two-thirds said they bring their treats. " And had some obviously erroneous data: "our favorite snack food is fruit" (?? give me a break.)
Dear Washington Post, here are some ideas for future office snack coverage:
Idea #1: "The SnackEO," what are the nation's top executives snacking on?? JACK WELCH, what is your snack of choice?
Idea #2: An investigative report as to the recent jacking up of the snack prices in my office building's vending machine. 85 cents for a Snickers?!?! That is certainly worthy of a little Woodward and Bernstein action, or at least Bernstein.
Readers, any other ideas?

AND she buried the lede: "About 45 percent of respondents said they do not snack at work." Are you kidding me?!
The REAL headline of this article should be "45% of Americans Caught Dishing Filthy, Slimy Lies to The Washington Post."
"The mid-afternoon snack attack hits almost every day, so we dive into the file cabinet drawer or grab the apple sitting on the desk."
a) "ALMOST every day"? Please. Try "once at 10:30am and at least once every afternoon". Or is that just me?
b)While I will admit to foraging in office filing cabinets for snacks, I guarantee there will NEVER be an apple sitting on my desk, unless it is in the form of a gummy candy.
I can try to get the Jack Welch answer for you. He is teaching here next fall.
Also, ice cream as a favorite office snack?! That is ludicrous. I have NEVER...ok ONE time I ate some leftover ice cream from Smyth's going-away party while sitting at my desk but it was really awkward and I was ashamed of myself.
